I’ve been using a blue cover design for the marketing of What Happens in New York until now, but to be honest, I was never 100% happy with it. I always felt like it looked more like an ebook cover as opposed to a book cover, and since I want to to a print version, I need something that looks good as both.
So every so often, when I was feeling creative but didn’t want to write, I’d play around in Canva.
A few days ago, I found the most amazing image of a pair of bright pink tights against a checkered background.
And I knew it was the one.
And here it is!
I’m super proud of it as graphic design really isn’t my strong point, and I thought I was going to have to pay a professional to design me something awesome.
The photo was taken by Nina Malyna, and the fonts used as Oswald and Playfair Display.
